The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's Celebration of Philanthropy Scholarship
T
he Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s Celebration of Philanthropy Scholarship offers limited funding to Anne Arundel County nonprofit organization staff members, volunteers, board members and residents who are interested in learning more about development and fundraising.  Nonprofits not located in but serving primarily Anne Arundel County are also eligible.  These scholarships are funded by proceeds from the annual Celebration of Philanthropy Luncheon in Anne Arundel County, sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Anne Arundel County in partnership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Maryland Chapter.

Celebration of Philanthropy 2009

The 9th Annual Celebration of Philanthropy in Anne Arundel County, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County and the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Maryland Chapter (AFP-MD), and presented by Connelly & Assoc. Fundraising, LLC, will be on November 13, 2009 (Friday) at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis.

 

Our Celebration of Philanthropy honors those whose generosity has strengthened and enhanced the nonprofit institutions that contribute to the well-being of Anne Arundel County citizens.  We will again be offering a Free Morning Educational Program prior to the Award Lunch, with the topic and speakers to be announced soon.  (The number of Free Morning Educational Program admissions that you receive is based on the number of seats that you purchase at the Award Lunch or the number of seats at the Award Lunch that are one of your Sponsor benefits.) 

 

In years past, more than 300 guests have gathered to honor Philanthropists of the Year Edward St. John, Robert Pascal, Hillard Donner, Creston and Betty Jane Tate, Jim and Katherine Mandrin, Frank and Susan Chaney, Tom and Peggy Baldwin, and Fred Graul; Volunteers of the Year, Tony and Penny Evans, Tricia Lehmann, Rob Cradle, Trudy McFall, Dennis Conti and Anna E. Greenberg; and Youth Philanthropists of the Year Megan Skiles and Annie Bukowski. 

 

We will announce the honorees for this year closer to the event date.

Please join us this year as, once again, we honor a select number of Anne Arundel County’s extraordinary citizens.  All Sponsors receive recognition in the program, press materials, and presentation, as well as complimentary registrations for the Morning Educational Program.

CreateAThon 2009

 

As you know the recession has hit the non-profit community hard. Demand for services are up and individual and foundation support is down. If you have a marketing/communications project that you put on the back burner due to budget constraints, apply today for a FREE project through a national program called CreateAThon. Applications are available now and must be completed by Monday, July 13, 2009.

 

The program will be serving non-profits from Baltimore through the Mid-Shore. Through CreateAthon five marketing/communications projects will be selected and completed for FREE by a professional public relations/creative agency.

 

This is the fifth year for Maryland’s CreateAThon campaign. The program is open to all Maryland non-profits from Baltimore to the Mid-Shore. Previously unselected applicants are encouraged to re-apply. The local participating agency spearheading this effort is Purple Cat, a Kent Island public relations agency.
